MID-SUMMER WOES

Unfortunately for the mosquitoes who plague us during the summer, there are many sprays and devices to keep them at bay, but to date there has been little on the market to effectively ward off hornets, wasps, horseflies and the insects that can damage orchards and vegetable gardens.

Tap-Trap is the simplest and oldest of concepts used by generations of home gardeners (at least here in Italy): all you need is a honey or jam jar and a Tap-Trap lid (which you can buy on Amazon). With this specially designed lid - through which the insects will go, but not exit – many of these perennial and destructive pests can be eliminated from your vegetable garden or orchard. And it’s Made in Italy!

Designer of the Tap-Trap Roberto Carello states: “Our intent is to help those who cultivate a vegetable garden, an orchard, or breed animals, to counteract harmful insects with the help of selective ecological traps, with the intention of using fewer insecticides and collecting healthier fruits.” A noble cause indeed and from personal experience, highly effective.
